The Grand Grimoire Vault is the public home of The Grand Grimoire of Fantasy Television, an evidence-based archive built for curious viewers, devoted fans and anyone who has ever paused an episode to ask, “Wait—when did we learn that?”
The complete Grand Grimoire is the larger research and archive project. The Vault is where readers can explore that work as each collection is ready. We are building it in stages, with every collection researched, connected and reviewed before we call it complete.
More than an episode guide
The Grand Grimoire connects each episode to the people, characters, creatures, lore, spells, rituals, weapons, artifacts, locations, music, quotations, timelines, production information, evidence, citations and continuity questions surrounding it.
Those connections matter. A weapon may appear in several episodes. A line of dialogue may sound like a rule until another episode contradicts it. A spell may have different wording, ingredients or consequences each time it is used. The Vault keeps those relationships visible while separating confirmed canon from interpretation, unresolved questions and fan theory.

Why this is personal
The Grand Grimoire was created by Karen Leigh McConnell, Creator, Chief Archivist and Mistress of Lore.
I became Matthew’s mother when I was fifteen, so in some ways, we grew up together. He was my only biological child, and we could turn one episode of Supernatural into a lively conversation that lasted much longer than the episode. Building the Grand Grimoire is my way of keeping our curiosity and those conversations going.
Matthew Alan DeBoard—Keeper of the Current (November 13, 1992–January 4, 2026) was an electrician. His title carries more than one meaning: he worked with electrical current, and he kept the questions and ideas flowing. Keeper of the Current honors both the work he did with his hands and the lively exchanges he shared with his mother.
What the Vault will cover
The planned archive includes:
- Supernatural, Seasons 1–15
- The Vampire Diaries Universe: The Vampire Diaries, Seasons 1–8; The Originals, Seasons 1–5; and Legacies, Seasons 1–4
- The Once Upon a Time Universe: Once Upon a Time, Seasons 1–7, and the complete 13-episode season of Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
- The Harry Potter Universe: the seven primary novels, eight Harry Potter films, the three released Fantastic Beasts films, and a reserved future collection for the HBO television adaptation after episodes are released and can be properly researched
Supernatural is the first universe being prepared for public use. The Vampire Diaries, Once Upon a Time and Harry Potter collections remain in research and development. The Vault will identify what is available, what is being prepared and what remains part of the long-term plan.
Built for readers and researchers
You do not need to know the Grimoire’s internal terminology to use the site. Casual viewers can explore an episode, character or piece of lore. Serious lore hunters can follow the evidence, citations and connected records as far as the current research allows.
When canon gives a clear answer, the Vault says so. When the evidence conflicts or the story leaves a question unresolved, the uncertainty stays visible. We show our sources and correct mistakes openly.
